The powerful and peaceful witness shown by the people of Minneapolis is a template for other communities that will likely be confronted with similar tactics by ICE.
And Minneapolis City Council Member Robin Wonsley has proposed a plan for Minneapolis to begin to recover from the trauma from ICE tactics. Her innovative plan is to help people who are facing eviction from the economic impacts of the occupation, and businesses the suffered because of fears of their own employees or their customers. (See below).
This is a clear example of the collapse of our current economic and political systems. But also a shining example of how to respond with the concept of ‘active objection’.
