Need new peace movement now
We can't allow our focus to be hijacked into dwelling on this atrocity. We must not only continue our peace efforts, but look around for others who share our beliefs that we haven't, for whatever reason, connected with, yet. Build a new peace movement, built on years of work we have already done. But now look more globally for peacemakers to join us, for us to join them, at this horrible time.
The Modern Face of Empire
I've often thought about the parallels between the settler-colonialism that is on continuous public display of Israel's unrelenting attacks in Gaza and the West Bank, supported by billions of dollars in aid and weapons from this country.
March to Gaza blocked
I had hoped the Global March to Gaza might do what no one has been able to accomplish, create the conditions for actions to bring humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza who Israel is intentionally starving. Unfortunately the March was prevented from crossing Egypt to Gaza.
Edge of Erasure
According to the American Friends Service Committee (AFSC), the policies and violence Israel is perpetrating on people across the territories are "systematic and risk the erasure of Palestinians."

What makes this march particularly inspiring is its stance. Organisers have emphasised that it is not about taking sides but about addressing a humanitarian catastrophe. Participants are funding their own travel, with no fundraising involved, reflecting a pure intent to serve those in need. This citizen-led approach contrasts with stalled diplomatic efforts, offering a fresh avenue to pressure governments and international bodies to act. Mooman Muhammad
US Foreign and Domestic Imperialism
It is disconcerting to see both the domestic and international imperial forces of this country exploding at the same time. With the deployment of National Guard troops to Los Angeles at the same time the Freedom Flotilla vessel Madleen was boarded by the Israeli Defence Forces in international waters.

As anticipated, the Israeli Defence Forces stopped the Freedom Flotilla vessel, Madleen, as it approached Gaza to deliver humanitarian aid in response to the dire hunger crisis there
