A Time of Reflection
I'm a little overwhelmed by the spiritual experiences I've had recently. I felt the presence of the Spirit intensely as I prepared to join the work to rebuild the Healing Justice House, to help with the deconstruction of the Healing Justice House, part of the Great Plains Action Society's new Indigenous-led Urban Resilience and Innovation Hub. The intensity has not diminished. I am led to remain in this Spiritual space as I seek answers to what happened and what I am led to do next. I won't be engaging with email and electronic media much

As I prepare to go to Iowa City to help build the Healing Justice House of the Great Plains Action Society, I'm reminded of the other time Iowa Quakers supported Indigenous led acts.
Interdependence of Our Liberation
One thing that wasn't made clear enough was the interdependence of the three parts the circle: Bear Creek Quaker meeting, the Great Plains Action Society (GPAS) and the Decolonial Repair Network (DRN).

The way to be a NewCO is to join with others to replace the current systems of injustice. The NewCO is about building beautiful communities of Mutual Aid, where wellness and safety are practiced. Indigenous leadership from the beginning is essential.
Convergence on Healing Justice House
This invitation is an opportunity to take part in meaningful and practical work toward decolonial repair. Right now in Iowa City, the Great Plains Action Society (GPAS) is beginning a project that’s more than just a vision—it’s a real, on-the-ground effort to shape what a more just future looks like for Indigenous communities. GPAS is building the actual infrastructure to make it happen and inviting partners to join in.
Healing Justice House Workcamp Opportunity
This hub is a reclamation of Indigenous and Matriarchal agency that will help the community work towards environmental and social justice. Essentially this a true testament to Indigenous Futurism where our worldviews and lifeways can help reduce carbon emissions through community building, reimagine the world and establish a just economy

I hope you will decide to conscientiously object to our current systems of injustice and decide to become a New Conscientious Objector (NewCO).
A fork in the road
I urge Quakers and others of conscience to object to Christian, colonial capitalism, and build Beloved communities based upon Mutual Aid, LANDBACK, and the replacement of police and prisons with ways to promote community safety instead.
