Oscars and Palestine

With the world's attention on the Academy Awards last night, filmmakers Yuval Abraham, an Israeli, and Basel Adra, a Palestinian, won the award for Best Documentary for their film, No Other Land. Links to two blog posts I've previously written about this film can be found below.

Israel-Hamas ceasefire phase 2

Hamas has said it won’t release the remaining captives without a lasting ceasefire and full Israeli withdrawal from Gaza. Netanyahu, with the full backing of the Trump administration, says he’s committed to destroying Hamas’ military and governing capacities and returning all hostages, goals widely seen as mutually exclusive.

Bowdoin student solidarity camp

The first student pro-Palestinian solidarity encampment under the Trump administration has begun in the past few days. I've been wondering when these solidarity encampments would appear again. In many ways the Trump administration has resulted in such actions carrying significantly greater risks.
