There is a sharp contrast between the usual college commencement ceremonies this spring and the need for an alternative 'People's Graduation'. Severe repression against pro-Palestinian activists has included withholding degrees for some who have been involved in efforts to bring attention to the increasingly dire situation for Palestinians living in Gaza and the West Bank.

Atomization of the people in Gaza
Starvation is a tool of colonization, weaponized to weaken bodies, fracture bonds, undermine social cohesion, fuel internal aggression, weaken resistance, and turn survival into an isolating struggle.
Hunger Strikes
Hunger strike means to go without food in solidarity with those suffering from hunger, from famine. It also means that hunger has striken the children, the people in Gaza and the West Bank.
Bombs and bulldozers
One of the primary reasons for the near blackout of news reports, images, and videos from Gaza and the West Bank is that people would see how bombs and bulldozers are in the final stages of making those areas unlivable. Trying to make the tenacious Palestinians finally give up and leave. Trying to make the conditions in Gaza and the West Bank "unlivable", and would require complete rebuilding from the ground up. Rebuilding under the control of Israel and its US enablers.
Critical famine risk
I cannot comprehend the mindset required to weaponize famine as a military and political strategy. And yet this has repeatedly been part of conflicts and wars throughout history. Invading armies taking food and destroying crops. And this was the strategy used against the Native people in this country. Untold numbers of buffalo were intentionally slaughtered—a history of forced assimilation and genocide.
Ongoing Nakba
Since the late 1990s, the phrase "ongoing Nakba" (Arabic: al-nakba al-mustamirra) has emerged to describe the "continuous experience of violence and dispossession" faced by the Palestinian people. This term emphasizes that the Nakba is not merely an event in 1948, but an ongoing process that continues to the present day.
I condemn this genocide
I do not wish to speak only to my own politics today but to speak for all people of conscience and all people who feel the moral injury of this atrocity and I want to say that I condemn this genocide and complicity in this genocide. Logan Rozos
You knew they were going to kill you
EVERYONE in Gaza seems to have a premonition of their death. How could they not as bombs continue to rain down on them as they try to shelter in tents or the rubble?
‘We cannot remain silent’
Gaza-based photojournalist Fatma Hassona was the main subject of the film "Put Your Soul on Your Hand and Walk." She was killed with her family this week in an Israeli airstrike, just a day after the film was selected to premiere at Cannes.
US President visit to the Middle East
Gaza is starving from the complete obstruction of humanitarian aid by Israel.
