Need new peace movement now
We can't allow our focus to be hijacked into dwelling on this atrocity. We must not only continue our peace efforts, but look around for others who share our beliefs that we haven't, for whatever reason, connected with, yet. Build a new peace movement, built on years of work we have already done. But now look more globally for peacemakers to join us, for us to join them, at this horrible time.
The Modern Face of Empire
I've often thought about the parallels between the settler-colonialism that is on continuous public display of Israel's unrelenting attacks in Gaza and the West Bank, supported by billions of dollars in aid and weapons from this country.

March to Gaza blocked
I had hoped the Global March to Gaza might do what no one has been able to accomplish, create the conditions for actions to bring humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza who Israel is intentionally starving. Unfortunately the March was prevented from crossing Egypt to Gaza.

Participants are funding their own travel, with no fundraising involved, reflecting a pure intent to serve those in need. It is disconcerting to see both the domestic and international imperial forces of this country exploding at the same time. With the deployment of National Guard troops to Los Angeles at the same time the Freedom Flotilla vessel Madleen was boarded by the Israeli Defence Forces in international waters.
