Conscientious objection in various forms has been used to remove ourselves from participation in injustice as best we can. Our attempts to maintain our integrity.
Historically conscientious objection changed from an individual’s:
- refusal to kill others,
- to refusal to fight in war,
- to refusal to cooperate with military conscription (the draft)
Isn’t it time NOW for us to conscientiously object to the entire system of injustice we are embedded in?
The NewCO (New Conscientious Objector) idea is a way we can do this now.
You can define yourself as a NewCO when you decide, or are led to join with others to replace the current systems of injustice. You find others to join in your own community. The NewCO is about building beautiful local communities of Mutual Aid, where wellness and safety are practiced. Indigenous leadership from the beginning is essential.
